NEW YORK, N.Y. – North Salem’s Ava Jolley qualified for the New York State indoor track championships with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter qualifying race, held Sunday at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City.

The junior runner finished in 10:19.71, about 30 seconds behind North Rockland’s Katelyn Tuohy, a finalist for the Gatorade Female High School Athlete of the Year, which she also won in 2018.

In the same 3,000-meter race, North Salem senior Juliette Intrieri finished in 12th place (11:16.34).
