Junior Paul Lulaj scored off of a free kick right before halftime. Ten minutes into the second half, senior captain Matt Cole, assisted by junior Noah Elias, knotted the game up on a breakaway goal.

The game remained deadlocked for the next 15 minutes until Pleasantville’s William Ricciardi scored on a put-back.

Though his team has 13 returning players, only three of them were starters last year, said head coach Ron Hendrie.

“I felt like we improved a lot through the course of today’s game,” Hendrie said. “It was much more intense and high-paced than our scrimmage with Brewster. The intensity was an eye-opener for our new guys.”

The Tigers will get right back at it on Saturday, Aug. 31, when they travel to Briarcliff.
