NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The North Salem girls basketball team, under new coach Lance DeMarzo, opened their season by winning two of three games last week.

North Salem 63 @ The Leffell School 28

The Tigers won their season opener on Tuesday, Dec. 3, with 63-28 victory at the Leffell School. Located in Hartsdale, the school is formerly known as the Solomon Schechter School of Westchester.

Two days later, they won the first round of a four-team tournament, defeating host Keio Academy, 46-28. The private high school is located in Purchase.

North Salem 41 vs. Valhalla 51

In the championship game of the Keio Academy tournament, North Salem fell to Valhalla, 51-41.

“Even though we lost, it was a learning experience,” Coach DeMarzo said. “What I like the most was our balanced scoring. We are finding our way.”
