NUTLEY, NJ - Asprocolas Acres returns to the Nutley Farmers Market on Sunday with a large variety of fruit, vegetables and greens for your table. TAPinto Nutley caught up with them at the Essex County Senior Citizen market for a preview of some of what to expect on Sunday.

Asparagus! Jersey Fresh asparagus is in season right now. Grill it, wrap it in prosciutto, or steam it and toss in a vinaigrette. The asparagus season is fairly short and locally grown always tastes best.

Visitors to the market will also discover cucumbers, run these green treats over the box grater, toss with plain yogurt, cumin, a pinch of cayenne, some crushed garlic for raita, This Indian condiment is also a great alternative to the more common sour cream based dips that show up on party tables year round. Instead of chip, try pea pods as dippers.

Steam them or put them in boiling water a little longer than you would for blanching, then toss them with butter, the zest of a lemon, plus the juice of half of the lemon, and herbs for quick dressing while they are still hot. They can be served hot or cold.
