FLORHAM PARK, NJ - Gasoline prices in the Garden State are unchanged from last week with the average price of a gallon of gas at $2.38 this week. The current price is two cents than one month ago and 37 cents higher than one year ago.
“In spite of the havoc wreaked on Gulf Coast oil refineries by Hurricane Harvey this weekend, gas prices in the northeast have remained relatively stable since Friday,” said Cathleen Lewis, director of public affairs and government relations for AAA Northeast. “Whether that trend continues, of course, depends on how quickly refineries are able to resume normal production. The aftermath of Harvey may put additional upward pressure on local prices as Labor Day approaches”
