You may have seen in the last few elections people running together on one ticket for the BOE and wondered what the benefit was. Well, for those running, the benefit is that perhaps if someone likes one of them they will vote for all three. But for you, the constituent, there is no benefit. There's no benefit to three people joining the board who decide to blindly follow each other. There's no benefit to someone who won't stand against "their team" if they disagree with their position. There's no benefit to having multiple people get behind a bad idea.
As someone who has been on the board for 24 years, I know firsthand the benefits of being an independent thinker for the people whom you serve. You deserve to have a BOE representative who will use this position to voice unique ideas, individual opinions, and fight against decisions they don't agree with. You deserve someone who understands the value of a healthy debate among friends and colleagues in order to get to the best idea that serve the community. You deserve someone who is not afraid to stand up for what they believe in, even when it's not popular, if it's what is in the best interest of the children.
So, if you value independent thinking, strong leadership, and a willingness to fight for the best interest of your children no matter what anyone else thinks, then please consider voting for me, Charlie Kucinski.
