MONTCLAIR, NJ - Sometime around 4:45pm on Monday, a NJ Transit train collided with a vehicle at the Bellevue Ave Train Station. First responders rushed to the scene to discover that the driver of the vehicle only sustained minor injuries. No passengers were injured.
The train had been traveling on the Montclair-Boonton line from New York Penn Station toward Montclair State University, when the accident occurred, NJT officials announced. The collision caused delays up to 45 minutes in both directions until the accident had been cleared up.
An NJ Transit spokesperson reported that there were minor injuries to the occupants of the vehicle.
NJ Transit and police officials are investigating the matter.
