CHATHAM, NJ - The Borough of Chatham Council has the introduction of an ordinance that would ban single-use plastic bags in retail establishments on its agenda for its Monday, Sept. 23 regular meeting.

The Chatham Borough Environmental Commission had given a presentation on the pollution caused by single-use plastic bags at its June 24 meeting of the council, a prelude of the ordinance to come.

If passed on introduction, the ordinance would be up for adoption on Oct. 15, 2019.
