NUTLEY, NJ - Just months after the last prescription was filled at the Rite Aid on Franklin Ave, a banner proclaiming Dollar Tree's arrival was unveiled.
The Franklin Ave. site, near the Belleville border, was once a Grand Union supermarket, It also was home to H. Salt Seafood Galley, before becoming Burger King. Burger King eventually moved to a stand-alone structure within the same parking lot. Rite Aid occupied the entire space for years afterward. This past Memorial Day weekend the final sales were run at Rite Aid.
Dollar Tree, where everything from household items, snacks, craft supplies, and more is just $1.00, will be opening later this Fall.
