NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley Board of Commissioners approve the annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign during the Thursday, Nov. 7 public meeting.
The Township declares its support for the 2019 yearend holiday crackdown to be held from Dec. 11, 2019 through Jan. 1, 2020. Impaired drivers kill more than 10,000 people each year and cost society more than $37 billion annually. In 2018, 29 percent of motor vehicle fatalities in New Jersey were alcohol-related.
The townships of Nutley and Montclair again entered into an agreement to share Montclair’s health services of a technical and professional nature with Nutley. Montclair will furnish health services from Jan. 1, 2020 through Dec. 31, 2023 for a fee of $22,235.50 per calendar half in 2020, $22,902.50 per calendar half in 2021 and $224,297.50 per calendar half in 2023.
Nutley entered into a contract with Viridian Environmental Consultants in Montclair for ground water investigation services. Resolution No. 279-19 was approved to allow for Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $3,365 for site investigation services.
GTBM, Inc. was awarded a contract from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 not to exceed $45,000 to provide the software Info-Cop E-Ticketing System. According to Resolution 299-19, electronic ticketing increases efficiency enabling officer to return to service faster, eliminating errors and auto-populating citations.
The township negotiated with Delta Dental of New Jersey Inc. in Parsippany to retain a two-year renewal rate with a 3 percent reduction. The anticipated cost for the service will not exceed $362,100 per year.
The township entered into a contract with Premier Vision Care of Brick to provide services for the sum of $1,564.
Angelo Cifelli Jr. Esq. of the Law Firm of Piro, Zinna, Cifelli, Paris & Genitempo in Nutley was awarded a contract from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 not to exceed $10,000 to provide legal advice and services to the Code Enforcement Department in connection with the township’s Land Uses Policies and Procedures.
The Law Firm of Piro, Zinna, Cifelli, Paris & Genitempo was awarded a contract from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 to provide an attorney as municipal tax counsel to provide legal counsel services concerning municipal tax appeals. A fee schedule to provide such services will not exceed $50,000.
Millennium Strategies, LLC in Morristown was awarded a contract from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 not to exceed $35,000 to provide grant consulting services.
Evans said, “While we pay $35,000 for the services, the benefit to the town is significant. Last week Commissioner Tucci announced [an] effort for the improvements to DeMuro Park where we’re receiving a grant and loan combination of over $700,000. We also have been awarded significant contracts for roadway repairs and improvements that go into the hundreds of thousands of dollars as well.”
Nisivoccia, LLP certified public accountants and consultants of Mt. Arlington was awarded a contract from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 to conduct an annual audit of the Township of Nutley’s books, accounts, and financial transactions, inclusive of the Nutley Public Library, within five months after the close of the fiscal year. The chief financial officer has determined the contract will exceed $30,000. A fee schedule totaling $160,019.59 to provide those services was approved.
Hendricks Appraisal Company, LLC in West Orange was awarded a contract from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 to provide professional real estate appraisals, tax appeals and tax court appearances and to complete the necessary procedures to ensure the capture of added assessments arising from ongoing improvement activities in Nutley. The tax assessor has determined the contract will exceed $30,000. A fee schedule not to exceed $45,000 to provide those services was approved.
Inglesino, Webster, Wyciskala and Taylor, LLC entered into contract from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 with Nutley as counsel concerning compliance, procedural and general legal services not to exceed $35,000.
The township entered into contract with U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance Contract, National Joint Powers Alliance, Keystone Purchasing Network and HGACBuy vendors from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020.
The township entered into contract with State Contracts from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 and is authorized to enter into any and all contracts administered by the New Jersey Division of Purchase and Property with State Contract vendors and properly executed contracts listed on the NJ State website NJstart.gov and legacy contracts listed om state.nj.us/treasury/purchase, which shall be subject to all conditions to the current state contract.
The township entered into contract with Essex County Cooperative Purchasing Program from Jan, 1 2020 to Dec. 31, 2020 to purchase goods or services from the approved co-op vendors.
A person-to-person transfer of a plenary retail consumption license thus far issued to Southside Grill, LLC to Luna Wood Fire Tavern for the premises located at 223A Franklin Ave. was approved and effective as of Nov. 18.
Nutley Youth Baseball Club, Inc.’s off-premise 50/50 cash raffle for March 27 was approved.
The next Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3.
