BLOOMFIELD, NJ-- With less than a week left before the election, the Murphy campaign is making a local push to ensure that Phil Murphy comes out on top in what's becoming a contentious gubernatorial race.  On Friday afternoon at Bloomfield Fire Headquarters, Tammy Murphy, the wife of Democratic nominee Phil Murphy along with Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper held a First Responders "Get Out The Vote" rally.  The crowd of approximately 80 listened on as Mayor Michael Venezia introduced Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo who briefly spoke before Murphy and Governor Hickenlooper addressed the crowd.  NJ State PBA President Pat Colligan and NJ State FMBA Vice President Rich Mikutsky also spoke in support of Murphy.

First responders were hit especially hard during Chris Christie's tenure as Governor.  Sweeping changes to pension and healthcare were put into place after Christie made many campaign promises to leave those "sacred trusts" alone.  The New Jersey gubernatorial election will take place on November 7, 2017.  Murphy is facing off against Republican Kim Guadagno who is the current Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey.
