BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield College announced Monday that the Westminster Arts Center will no longer be available for use by groups outisde of the college community. The space was used in the past by groups including 4th Wall Theatre, NiCori Studios, and the Historical Society of Bloomfield for perfomances and lectures.
In a formal statement, the college stated, "As a liberal arts college, Bloomfield College appreciates and understands the vast importance and power of the Arts, which is embedded in several of our academic and student programs. This was not an easy decision to make, and we understand that many are disappointed by this hard, but necessary reorganization."
In recent years, Bloomfield College has experienced tremendous growth, including the addiiton of new programs for undergraduate and graduate students. The change is due in large part to the college requiring that space for the students and educational programs.
