NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley's brightest night of the year filled the Nutley Museum with hot jazz of Nutley High School's 'Jazz Lab' as the Nutley Educational Foundation (NEF) celebrated its benefactors and the projects that making Nutley a great place to live and learn.
The 'Jazz Lab' provided music over the course of the Wednesday evening event, but it was not until the end of the event that the students jammed and brought the house down.
Grants from the NEF create environments in which Nutley students can really excel. One of the grants from NEF will provide new musical instruments for the John H. Walker Middle. In the past, middle school students settled for hand me downs from the high school. Strong music and arts education have a direct correlation to student performance in mathematics and the sciences.
NEF funds projects in all disciplines, at all grade levels. Wednesday night the 'Jazz Lab' took the spotlight and showed Nutley that anything is possible when students are given the opportunity. The student were inspired under the direction of John Maiello and Vincent Vicchiariello.
TAPinto Nutley will have continuing coverage of the Nutley Educational Foundation.
