NUTLEY, NJ - Halfway through the first month of the new year and the story is pretty much the same as 2020, the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases, and deaths, continues to rise across the country, and here in Nutley.

This past week, the County of Essex reported additional deaths due to coronavirus in Nutley. Since reporting began in March 2020, 49 Nutleyites have succumbed to COVID-19. Friday, the Township of Nutley Office of Emergency published their latest community update showing 120 additional cases of coronavirus. To date, the Township of Nutley has reported 1,908 confirmed cases of COVID-19. 

Across Essex County, there have been 54,595  confirmed cases of coronavirus in the county and 2221 deaths through Sunday Jan. 17, 2021.

Statewide, there have been 565,097 cases of coronavirus in the state since reporting began. According to Gov. Phil Murphy's update on Sunday Jan. 17, 2021, 18,348 Garden State residents have been lost to COVID-19.
