NUTLEY, NJ, - Nutley High School student Jerry Gibbons was first to cross the finish line at the first annual Daniel P. McCann Memorial Beer Run on Saturday.
Dozens of colleagues, friends, and supporters from all walks of life came out to honor McCann who died last September in the line of duty. McCann served with Manasquan Hook & Ladder Company 1 for 27 years. He was also a full-time emergency medical technician with the Nutley Volunteer Emergency & Rescue Squad.
Because McCann touched so many lives, participants included supporters on foot, on bike, in strollers, and on four legs.
