PARKLAND, FLA - A Marjory Stoneman Douglas student was arrested and charged with making a threatening post through "Snapchat" on Tuesday.  Two others were arrested for bringing knives to school, in unrelated incidents

Regarding the threatening post, the Broward Sheriff's Office reported that: "In one image, the teen displays a gun in his waistband. In a second image, he shows off bullets. The detective said both photos had threatening messages; one message was directed to a person named "Josh."

The BSO reported that two students were arrested for bringing knives to school, in unrelated incidents.  In one incident, a female unfolded a 2" black handle knife after getting into a verbal altercation with a male student.  In the other incident, a male student was arrested for possessing a 9" knife.

The BSO also reported that Deputy Moises Carotti was suspended, with pay, pending an internal affairs investigation, for sleeping on duty. A sergeant patrolling the interior of Marjory Douglas High School student was notified by a student that Carotti was asleep in his patrol unit.

According to the sergeant, he knocked on the window and that Carotti "appeared to be sleeping." The sergeant then called for a replacement. To read the report on the suspension CLICK HERE.
