NUTLEY, NJ - A Mourning Dove came to rest on a headstone in Nutley's historic church cemetery on Passaic Ave. near Yanticaw Park.

Mourning doves get their name from the soft cooing sound that is reminiscent of sobbing. When they first take off in flight, their wings make a unique whistling sound. Mourning doves traditionally migrate south for the winter, but the presence of garden feeders in suburbia has resulted in many doves making the Garden State their year-round home.
