NUTLEY, NJ - The Nutley Municipal Clerk’s Office offered extended hours of operation for Late Night Registration Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 8:00 a.m.to 9 p.m.
According to Eleni Pettas, Township Clerk of Nutley, fifteen new voters registered at Town Hall on Tuesday.
“We had many citizens come to the office throughout the day. In addition we received several emails and calls from new Nutley residents.”
Pettas explained that most of the inquiries were from individuals who had recently moved to Nutley wanting to know if they were registered to vote in Nutley. In addition, Pettas said that her staff provided many application forms to those who took the forms home to complete and then submitted via mail.
In order to vote in the November 7 election, all voter registrations were required to be postmarked by 12pm on Tuesday. All applications received by the Clerk’s office were sent electronically and via fax to the state of NJ.
Pettas said: “It is nice to see residents coming in for these services offered by the Township.” Regarding her staff Pettas shared: “A leader is only as good as their team.”
