NUTLEY, NJ - The annual peach pie contest takes place Sunday August 6 at the Nutley Farmers Market and there is still time to enter.
Created as a part of the New Jersey Peach Promotion Council, the pie contest has become an annual event with winners moving toward state wide competition and market attendees sampling all of the Jersey Fresh goodness.
For 2017, a panel of esteemed judges will rank the entrees according to appearance, taste, crust and other factors. The judges include Mayor Scarpelli, TAPinto Nutley's John Lee, Adventure Kitchen's Lynley Jones, and Jarets Stuffed Cupcakes' Keith Jaret.
Bakers, it's not too late to enter.
Just complete this entry form and drop it off at the Market
with your pie between 8am and 10am.
Recipes must be included as a part of the entry into the contest. As an added feature this year, TAPinto Nutley is asking all entrants to share their recipe via email or word document to be published in TAPinto Nutley in the coming days. TAPinto Nutley's recipe hotline is Nutley@TAPinto.net.
Also on Sunday, John and Melisse of Steep for the Trees will be sampling their Peach Black Tea under their tent.
