NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley churches will mark the start of the Christian Holy Week with a procession of palms on Sunday April 9, Palm Sunday. .

According to the Nutley Clergy Fellowship, several local congregations will gather on the lawn of Nutley Town Hall at 9:15 a.m. after first processing from their churches with palms. A brief blessing of the palms will take place before allowing participants to return to their respective churches for worship. The blessing is expected to take about 15 minutes.   

The palm branch is a reminder of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem after spending 40 days in the desert. He was greeted with crowds waving palm branches of victory.
