NUTLEY, NJ - Municipal housing liaison was appointed and liquor licenses renewed were among the numerous resolutions approved during the Tuesday, June 19 Board of Commissioners’ public meeting. Parks and Recreation Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci was absent excused.
Ceci Tramontana was appointed as the municipal housing liaison for the administration of the Township of Nutley’s affordable housing program to enforce the New Jersey Affordable Housing Council requirements.
The township entered into a three year contract with Integrity Recycling and Waste Solutions, Inc. in Flemingtion for marketing of recyclable materials on May 8, 2015, with an option to extend the contract for one year, twice. A resolution was passed to extend the contract for one year, from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 in the amount not to exceed $30,000.
A resolution was approved authorizing the township to sign a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection treatment works approval permit application by PB Nutclif Master, LLC in Bloomfield for the change in use of the sanitary sewer system to Building 123 A, 340 Kingsland St. PB Nutclif Master, LLC is proposing a change in the sewer use on the Clifton campus which will increase the current projected flows from the building. All sewer improvements will be internal not changing the existing sanitary sewer laterals or to the sanitary sewage collection system.
Nutley is a member of the Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council. The Co-Op was awarded a bid for road resurfacing for granite and concrete vertical curb to Cifelli & Son General Contracting, Inc. in Nutley from Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2018. Nutley will utilize the Morris County Co-Op to install select curbs in various locations in town not to exceed $10,000 in costs.
D&L Paving Contractors, Inc. in Nutley was awarded a contract not to exceed $247,576.27 for 2018 various roadway improvements. Their base bid was $216,514 with an alternate bid No. 1 in the amount of $31,062.27.
A resolution approved to advertise for sealed bids for Harrison Street Roadway Improvement Project for the section from Bloomfield Avenue to East Passaic Avenue. The bids will be open and read on Wednesday, July 11, at 3 p.m.
A resolution was passed to grant Garden State Fireworks in Millington to be the vendor performing the Township of Nutley’s firework activities. The township authorizes discharge and use of fireworks by the vendor on or about July 4, with a rain date set for the next clear night.
The township approved renewal of 23 liquor licenses for the period of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018. Of the 23 licenses, two are inactive pocket licenses – F&S Maintenance, LLC and Jo-Ka trading as Washington Park Tavern. Four are club licenses belonging to American Legion Post #70; Columbian Club of Nutley trading as St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus; Nutley New Jersey Lodge #1290 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; and VFW Holding Company of Nutley.
Refunds for over payment of taxes in the total amount of $6,245.91 were granted for 372 Mount Vernon St. for 2018 and 225 Prospect St. for the years 2017 and 2018. Property tax refunds for the years 2016 and 2017 in the total amount of $8,115.80 were approved for 175 Franklin Ave.
On-premise 50/50 cash and merchandise raffle licenses were approved for St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Oct. 19. Off-premise 50/50 cash raffle for Rotary Club of Nutley for Sept. was also approved for Sept. 12.
