NUTLEY, NJ - The Nutley Educational Foundation has announced March 31, 2017 as the annual grant application deadline for educational awards.
The Nutley Educational Foundation (NEF) is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization dedicated to providing supplemental funding for the benefit of Nutley Public Schools. The foundation actively seeks donations and grants from corporations, local businesses, individuals, trusts and foundations for the purpose of continuing excellence in public education in Nutley. Awards are made through and application and grant process annually.
Founded in 2003, the NEF was created in part because of state mandated spending caps for public schools.
The projects funded either wholly or in part enhance the public education experience in Nutley without adding a dollar to resident's taxes. The most visible project is the outdoor classroom in the park behind the High School. It was constructed through a joint project of NEF and the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission.
The NEF accepts grant proposals year round with an annual deadline of March 31 for applications. Applications received before the March 31 deadline will be considered for September disbursement, applications received after March 31 will be considered for the following year.
