NUTLEY, NJ - Members of the Nutley Educational Foundation, together with workers from the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, planted the Nutley Learning Tree today in Yanticaw Park.

The tree, a Southern Magnolia, is indigenous to North America. NEF President Lorraine Kucinski credited Pennie Landry for bringing the idea of the magnolia to NEF. "In the south," according to Landry, its blooms are called the "fairest flower." When someone dreams of a magnolia, it means dignity and respect.
