NUTLEY, NJ - Paparazzi swarmed the Nutley Raider Marching Band as they were recognized at the Nutley Board of Commissioner meeting. The Raiders took home a $10,000 check Nutley captured awards awards for best percussion, best color guard, best music, marching and maneuvering , and overall general effect. They also took home 'Best Overall Group 2A.'

Board of Education president Danny Carnicella told the standing room only crowd in town hall that he is looking forward to a "three-peat" of the band's success next year. The Raiders previously attended the TaxSlayer Bowl in 2014. At that time they also won the Contest of Champions.

The band's participation in events like the TaxSlayer bowl is made possible by the support of the community. There are still some tickets left for the Nutley Music Booster Association's 'Taste of the World III' fundraiser at Nutley Parks and Recreation Friday at 7 p.m.
