NUTLEY, NJ - The June issue of Nutley High School's 'Maroon and Gray' is now available for the entire Nutley community to read.
2018 marks 100 years of journalism at NHS. Student journalism began in 1918 with the publication of The Attic, then the Gauntlet and finally a number of versions of the Maroon and Gray, that we have come to know today.
According to journalism teacher Karen Greco "In addition to our regular content in this issue, the journalism students created a special section to celebrate and honor "100 Years" of journalism at NHS. Students looked at the logos of past newspapers, profiled current NHS staff members who once walked the same halls as students, and the evolution of sports at NHS." Greco also offered a special 'thank you' to Ian Viemeister for all of his help and spearheading this project.
Thee issues of the Maroon and Gray were published during the 2017-2018 academic year. A high ranking official within the Nutley Public School district shared with TAPinto Nutley that the goal of the 2018-2019 academic year is to publish on a more frequent basis.
TAPinto Nutley is proud to partner with the 'Maroon and Gray' team to share their stories with the community at-large. Like TAPinto Nutley, the Maroon and Gray is a digital publication.
