NUTLEY, NJ - The 35th Annual Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day Parade kicked off in Belleville this afternoon with municipal and civic leaders from both communities joining the celebration. 

The parade started with First Responders from Newark, Essex County, Belleville and Nutley. Horns blared, sirens sounded, and lights flashed. Once they were out of earshot, a band performing the famous Neopolitan song  Funiculì, Funiculà as the lead-in to the local leaders.

Former Nutley Mayors Mauro Tucci and Alphonse Petracco, joined Mayor Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli and Commissioner Thomas Evans in the parade. Members of the Nutley Board of Education followed immediately behind them.
