Burglary – Park Drive – Response was made to the area in regards to a past occurred burglary. The homeowner arrived home and found things out of place and called 911. It was discovered that there was something missing from the home and the Detective Bureau was contacted and responded to the area to process the scene.  The victim was given a property sheet to record any items that were found to be missing and return to Police Headquarters.

Motor Vehicle Stop – Prospect Street – Officers initiated a motor vehicle stop which resulted in the arrest of the driver, Ernest Saint-Pierre, 30, of Linden for six (6) outstanding warrants out of Linden, Lawrence, Newark, West Orange, and two (2) out of Elizabeth.  He was transported to Headquarters, printed, processed, charged with Hindering-Give False Information, a Disorderly Person’s Offense for not providing Officers with his correct identity, issued motor vehicle summonses for Driving After DL/Registration Suspended/Revoked, Careless Driving: Likely to Endanger Person or Property, Open Container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle, Fail Possess Driver’s License, Obstruction of Windshield for Vision, Improper Right and Left Turns, Failure to Wear Seat Equipment-Responsibility of Driver, Failure to Possess Driver Insurance Card, advised of the two mandatory Court dates, and released from custody.

Motor Vehicle Accident – Walnut Street – A motor vehicle accident resulted in the arrest of the driver, Gina Scrudato, 48, of Nutley, who was issued motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Intoxicated, DWI Within 1,000 feet of School zone, Driving After Driver’s License/Registration Suspended, Open Container of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle, and Careless Driving.  She was advised of her Court date and released from custody.

Noise Complaint – Centre Street – Officers responded on a noise complaint which resulted in the homeowner being issued a Town Ordinance for Unnecessary or Disturbing Noises Generally, with a Court appearance. 

Identity Theft – Headquarters received a walk in report of identity theft.  The victim stated that they received many phone calls to their cellphone from a Loan company.  It was brought to the victim’s attention that someone used their name, social security number, phone number, and E-mail to get approved for a loan of $1,350.00.  After interest, the person owes a total of $2,023.09.  The victim stated the unknown person(s) deposited the money into an account with NBT Bank.  A freeze has been put on their social security number, and they were advised to contact the credit agencies to report that they were a victim of identity theft.

Property Damage – William Street – a county tree fell, due to the rainfall, and landed on the building’s fence, causing damage.  The Superintendent contacted the building management office who made contact with the insurance carrier.

Directed Patrol – Municipal Lot #1 - While conducting a quality of life issue in Lot 1 near the clock tower, a party was observed smoking a cigarette directly under the "no smoking sign" in clear violation of Town Ordinance 3244.  The party was issued a Township Ordinance for No Smoking, and advised of their Court date.

Motor Vehicle Stop – Park Avenue - A motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of Alexis Canabe, 32, of Kearny, for an outstanding warrant out of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department.  He was transported to Headquarters without incident, and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department was contacted and responded to our jurisdiction to take custody of Mr. Canabe. 

Motor Vehicle Stop – East Centre Street – A motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of the driver, Jadnier Rios-Torres, 36, Newark.  He was transported to Headquarters without incident, printed, processed, charged with Possession of Marijuana a Disorderly Person’s Offense, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Prescription Drugs of More than 5 < than 100 Pills, Third Degree, Possession CDS, Third Degree, Possession With the Intent to Distribute Within 1,000ft School, Third Degree, Possession with Intent to Distribute Within 500ft of Park, Second Degree, which were placed on warrant, issued three (3) motor vehicle summonses for Driving While Suspended, Maintenance of Lamps, Possession CDS in Motor Vehicle, advised of the charges and transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility.

Motor Vehicle Stop – Centre Street - A motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of Jose Liza, 38, Nutley, for an outstanding warrant out of Totowa.  He was transported to Headquarters, and Totowa PD was contacted, who released Mr. Liza on his own recognizance from their warrant with a new Court date.

Additionally, Mr. Liza was charged with Hindering Apprehension a Disorderly Person’s Offense, and Utilizing a Government ID to Deceive Law Enforcement, a 3rd Degree charge, which were placed on summons.  Also, placed on motor vehicle summonses were the following charges:  Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test, Consent to Take Samples of Breath, Reckless Driving, Driving While Driver’s License Suspended, Failure to Observe Traffic Control Device, Failure to Possess Driver’s License, and Prohibited Acts – ID Cards.  He was released with his Court date.
