NUTLEY NJ - Officers responded to the area of Harrison Street regarding a report of an actor that entered a home through an unlocked window.

Upon arrival the victim verified that while on the second floor of the home, unidentified actor/s entered the occupied home through an unlocked window and took approximately $30 in cash, a credit card, a set of car keys, and then stole their vehicle.

The Detective Bureau was notified and arrived to process the scene.  It was found that the credit card had been used twice since the time of the incident and the blue Toyota Matrix was entered as stolen.  The neighborhood was canvassed and follow up will be under the jurisdiction of the Detective Bureau.

Detectives called in to investigate followed a trail of evidence and located the vehicle on Washington Ave in Nutley after being used in Newark, where video surveillance identified  38 year old Michael Pietoso a person responsible for the burglary and theft. Police were able to locate Pietoso a Nutley resident and place him under arrest. He was charged with Burglary and theft processed and transported to Essex County jail in lieu of 50,000.00 bail.
