NUTLEY, NJ - Township families, and businesses, can now start making their end of summer plans because the Nutley Board of Education approved the 2020-2021 academic calendar at the Feb. 24, 2020 open public meeting.

Traditionally, the first day of school in the Nutley Public Schools systems is the Wednesday after Labor Day. In 2020, Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 7. If the district were to follow tradition, that would mean that the first day of classes would be Wed. Sept. 9. By comparison, the first day of classes in 2018 was Sept. 5, and Sept 4. in 2019. Labor Day is always the first Monday in September.

The first day of classes in Nutley for the 2020-2021 academic year will be Sept. 2.

The Rotary Club of Nutley is already planning their third annual car show. Set to take over Franklin Ave. from Chestnut St. to Centre St, the date for the 2020 car show is contingent on the start of classes. TAPinto Nutley will be waiting with bated breath for that announcement. This year the beneficiary of the car show is the Nutley Educational Foundation.
