NUTLEY, NJ - The Nutley Veterans Council and their families, along with students from Nutley High School, spent last weekend placing American flags alongside the headstones of local veterans.

Gravestones of veterans, some dating back well over 100 years, can be found in the cemetery at Franklin Reformed Church and the historic cemetery on Passaic Ave. near the intersection of Park Ave.

The flags were placed ahead of the Memorial Day weekend where the nation comes together to remember those who served our country and are no longer with us.

The cemetery at Franklin Reformed Church will be one of the last stops on the 'A Walk in the Park'  on Sunday May 27.
