NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley Rotary Participates in 16th annual Dictionary Project in Nutley schools
This past October, it was time for the Dictionary Project! In this age of digital media, Rotary makes sure that all Nutley third graders have a hard copy dictionary, that is more like a mini-encyclopedia with its sign language chart, list of presidents, information on all 50 states and so much more!
Nutley Rotary members enjoy the excitement of seeing each child receive his or her gift, as they introduce this helpful reference tool.
Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn.
The Dictionary Project’s goal is to assist all students to become good writers, active readers and creative thinkers by providing students a gift of their own personal dictionary.
