NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley Public Schools are closed Friday November 16 due to weather.
The Nutley Public School District issued the following statement:
Yesterday’s first snow of the school year created chaos throughout the state. Nutley Public Schools’ custodial, maintenance and ground crews, and the Nutley Department of Public Works teams worked into the night to ensure our schools are ready for students and staff.
However, our last students were picked up at school after 8:30 pm as parents struggled to get back to town from work, with dedicated staff members staying with them. Many other staff members had commutes home in excess of three and five hours.
Commuting routes remain sloppy and slick this morning. In order to ensure the safety and security of all staff and students both in and out of school, the Nutley Public Schools will be closed today.
For additional details refer to the Nutley Public Schools website.
TAPinto Nutley will be following the weather story and its impact on other community events that are scheduled for today.
