BELLEVILLE, NJ - The 15th Nutley Thriving Survivors Golf Outing got underway shortly after 8 a.m. this morning with 89 community members playing to support those battling breast cancer. The event took place at Essex County Parks' Hendricks Field Golf Course on Franklin Ave.

The morning started with a continental breakfast that allowed supporters of Nutley Thriving Survivors the chance to catch up and get ready for a morning of fun. At 8 a.m. participants joined in singing God Bless America near the 30 foot tall flag pole.

At Thriving Survivors founder Michele DeBlasio Fleitell's call, the carts took off in a scramble start onto the course in a style reminiscent of the Paris-Dakkar rally. After a morning of play everyone will meet at Diamond Springs in Nutley for lunch.
