NUTLEY, NJ - Nearly three dozen Nutley residents joined the Nutley Clergy Fellowsip on Good Friday for the annual 'cross walk. The walk is a spiritual remembrance of Jesus' walk of sacrifice.

Members of the community gathered in front of the High School for prayers of peace, healing, safety and compassion. The group then processed to several locations in Nutley Center for additional prayer.

Led by a large wooden cross, each stop along the route was one of the stations of the cross. Scriptures that told of the crucifixion were read at each stop. Between stops the participants sung traditional hymns. The cross was carried by different people along the route as a symbolic gesture of carrying the cross for Christ.
