WOODLAND PARK, NJ - The Woodland Park Police Department have concluded its investigation into a possible luring attempt on a child that occurred on Oct. 16 during dismissal at Beatrice Gilmore School on McBride Avenue, which serves third and fourth grades.

After a thorough investigation by the police, in collaboration with the school district, it was determined that the woman in question was picking up children of her own and was signaling past the child who initially alerted officials to the incident. Woodland Park Police say that this was confirmed with all parties involved.

"I thank each and every one of you for your patience, diligence, cooperation and most importantly, your trust and faith in our police department and our educators," School District Superintendent Dr. Michele Pillari noted in a statement sent to district parents. "It is comforting to know that we will always come together to work as a team for the safety of our children and everyone in our community."
