NUTLEY, NJ - Pretty Handy Goods on Franklin Ave. is hosting a crochet event on Fri. Jan. 17 to create nests and blankets for animals displaced by the wildfires in Australia.

Owner Joyce Lin is "Calling all who crochet or want to learn how to crochet! We'll be doing art for a good cause!" 

From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fri. Jan 17, Pretty Handy will host a free event where people will be crocheting nests and blankets for birds and other small animals who are hurt or lost their parents in the recent fires in Australia. Those with experience are encouraged to to help teach others how to make nests and blankets so everyone can make as many as possible to help save the animals. Everyone with tools or extra yarn is encouraged to bring it.
