NUTLEY, NJ - Dozens of Nutley residents were joined by their human companions for Nutley's free rabies vaccine clinic on Monday night. A second clinic is scheduled for Tuesday April 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nutley Fire Headquarters on Chestnut Street. 

The vaccine clinic is free for Nutley residents. 

While dogs were the most visible residents, several cats received vaccines as well. The vaccines are good for three years.

Volunteers from Nutley High School sophomore class helped keep the lines organized and provided human companions of dogs and cats with the forms that need to be completed. NHS Sophomores Alexis Ovr, Lara Carnovale, Evan Harzer. Desiree Vigilante, Rachel Caruso, and Grace Pula had a great time and told TAPinto Nutley that they look forward to doing it again.

In order to register a dog or cat in Nutley, the dog or cat must be vaccinated against rabies. 

Next week the township will offer two late night dog and cat registration sessions on Monday and Tuesday April 24 and 25. The Municipal Clerk's Office will be open until 8 p.m. on both nights.  

License Fees:

  • Spayed/Neutered Dog & Cat Licenses: $15.00
  • Non-Spayed/Neutered Dog & Cat Licenses: $18.00

License Fees for Senior Citizens 65 years of age and over:

  • Spayed/Neutered Dog & Cat Licenses: $12.00
  • Non-Spayed/Neutered Dog & Cat Licenses: $15.00
