The state government stopped reimbursing these funds when the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act ended on Dec. 31. However, the township can still submit COVID-19 related expenses to the Federal Emergency Management Agency at a rate of 75 cents on a dollar. Public Safety Commissioner Alphonse Petracco said during a previous BOC meeting that if one person in the police or the fire department tests positive for the COVID-19 virus the entire shift has to be quarantined for 10 days forcing overtime on other first responders.
