Hello I'm Sanford Fleitell .

I'm running for the office of Commissioner in Nutley. Many of you know me as Sam the owner of Trio Jewelers at 301 Franklin Ave. I would like to tell you who I am. I believe you need to put your faith in the person, that all decisions will be made with integrity.

I was born and raised in the Ironbound Section of Newark, graduated from East Side High School and received my BA from Rutgers, Newark. I married my wife, Michele DeBlasio, 39 years ago. Michele was born and raised here and assured me that Nutley was a great place to live and raise a family and that’s what we did. Both of our children, Rachel and Michael, went all through Nutley schools and are now successful young adults.

I‘ve been a business owner here for the past 36 years and I have a long history of community service in Nutley and in Essex County. Over the years, I have served on and was President of Nutley Family Service Bureau and Nutley Rotary. I currently am on the board of the Nutley Education Foundation and the Essex County Mental Health Board. I have supported many other service organizations and sports programs over the years and have been recognized by a few. Nutley has a long tradition of volunteerism and I am proud to still be a part of that environment.

I’ve worked with prior and current administrations to offer common sense answers to issues concerning the community. When decisions were made in the town that I didn't like, I expressed my opinion respectfully and moved on. I've spent my entire career in Nutley and have only tried  to do positive things for the town and others because that's who I am.

I have been ALL IN on Nutley from the beginning. When you vote for me in the upcoming election, know that my decisions will always be based on clear common sense thinking. I may make some decisions that you don't like and others that you will, but rest assured that the person that I am will never change and that whatever I do will always be in the best interest of the community.

Thank you for your consideration.
