I hope everyone had as wonderful an Easter or Passover as the current situation allows.  It was my intention to not post anything political this past weekend to respect everyone’s personal observance.

I’m running for commissioner in Nutley because I believe I can be a valuable asset to the community. As a resident, local business leader and 30-year community servant, I have history and insights that will help make Nutley an even better place to live.  As a small business owner, I have been working in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce to share ideas and information received from the Small Business Administration and the state to help ensure positive outcomes for all of our local businesses.  Now more than ever, we need a strong leader who understands what its like to be a small business owner.

I have been leading this fight and will continue to do so. I have established a relationship with the On3 developers, emphasizing the need to bring ratable development to the Nutley side of the property. I would work tirelessly as part of the governing body to implement positive change to benefit us all.

As a current member of the Nutley Educational Foundation and as a father of two grown children, I have always been a huge supporter of our school district. I will work closely with the Board of Education to ensure that our children have what they need to provide them with a competitive, thorough and well-rounded education.

I would like to review our current form of government. After careful study, I believe our current Commission form of government can be 10% more efficient if it were modified to a Council/Business Administrator model. Statistics from the International City Management Association show this to be true. Any savings could be used to help make the infrastructure changes we need to help alleviate the overcrowding in our schools.

As a proven community leader, team player, collaborator, and volunteer, I will work with other elected officials to effect positive change to make our township function more effectively and efficiently.
