Teen musicians from School of Rock Montclair performed at Summerfest, an 11 day concert event that’s held annually in Milwaukee. 

Teen musicians from School of Rock Montclairperformed at Summerfest, an 11 day concert event that’s held annually in Milwaukee and is billed as “the World’s Largest Music Festival”.  This year’s Summerfest attracted 831,769 attendees, and took place from June 28 through July 2, and from July 4 through July 9.

“Our students performed at Summerfest along with 500 other teen musicians who came from over 30 School of Rock locations across the U.S. and Australia,” says Kevin March, Creative Director for School of Rock Montclair. “I couldn’t be more proud of the progress that they’ve made and the skills that they’ve developed as a result of their participation in School of Rock Montclair’s Performance Programs, and I’m looking forward to being blown away by their continued development and growth as they continue their musical journeys with us.”

The band from School of Rock Montclair - which performed hits by Bruno Mars, Chic, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, and Christina Aguilera - featured the following Montclair musicians:

  • Sam Schuman – 18 years old, guitar
  • Jackson Richmond - 15, keyboards
  • Reymond Lamb - 16, vocals
  • Max Munoz - 15, vocals

“Because we practiced a lot and also because I’ve been involved with a lot of SoR’s Performance Program concerts in the past, I was totally ready to get on stage at Summerfest,” says Munoz.  “The venues where we played were fantastic, and the food wasn’t bad either.”

 

Hundreds of artists representing all musical genres were featured at this year’s Summerfest, including the Red Hot Chili PeppersLuke BryanThe Chainsmokers, Pink, Zac Brown BandDierks BentleyBob DylanSheryl Crow, Future, Migos, and Big Sean.
