NUTLEY, NJ - Team Yantacaw was one of several groups that walked the streets of Nutley distributiing information about the opioid epidemic in the Garden State.

Last year, legislation signed by Governor Christie declared every Oct 6 as Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day (KOOAD) in NJ. The Nutley Municipal Alliance sponsored KOOAD in partnership with Nutley Neighborhood Watch, L.E.A.D and other group;s including a large showing by Nutley's student athletes.

Team Yantacaw went door to door in their neighborhood placing door hangers to raise awareness of the potential for dependency on prescribed pain medicine and its link to heroin abuse rates.

Look for updates and town wide coverage of the event from TAPinto Nutley. (We joined the walkers and are still placing door hangers with them)
