BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Temple Ner Tamid's Friday night film festival and dinner continue February 3 with 'The Next Voice You Hear.'

"The Next Voice You Hear" is a 1950’s drama film in which a voice claiming to be that of God preempts all radio programs for days all
over the world. It stars James Whitmore and Nancy Davis (who later became Nancy Reagan) as Joe and Mary Smith, a typical American couple. The film is based on a short story of the same name by George Sumner Albee.

The voice is never heard by the (film) audience. The production of the film, from script stage to screen, was extensively covered as the subject of producer Dore Schary's 1950 book (with Charles Palmer) Case History of a Movie.
