NUTLEY, NJ - Two recently signed leases in Nutley prove that demand for 'main street' locations remains strong in Northern New Jersey. Good Vibes Yoga & Kombucha Bar and Mathnasium both signed leases for spaces on Franklin Ave, the main street, in the Essex County township.
David Townes, a Cushman & Wakefield retail broker worked on behalf of a private landlord to close both deals. Good Vibes Yoga and Kombucha Bar has 2,200 square feet of space, Mathnasium has 1,200 square feet.
“Boutique fitness – including yoga – is thriving,” Townes said. “Health-conscious Americans are looking for local, highly focused concepts that cater to their specific activity interests. This tenant will surely be a welcome addition for area residents.”
Good Vibes is an independently owned hot vinyasa yoga studio and Kombucha bar. It will combine a healthy social environment with the individual practice and time for mind and body that yoga provides, bridging community and personal care.
Mathnasium is a math-only learning center with more than 800 locations around the world. The franchise offers programs and tutoring for elementary, middle and high school levels. “Downtown retail remains in high demand in our region,” Townes added.
In a meeting of the Nutley Planning Board this Spring, Planning Board member and Nutley Revenue and Finance Commissioner stated that only about 2% of Nutley's retail space is not occupied.
“Nutley, in particular, offers strong demographics – the kind that draw national franchises like Mathnasium." stated Townes.
