SPRINGFIELD, NJ - The United States Golf Association (USGA) officially announced its 2018 Championship Schedule on Tuesday and can you guess which golf course is back in the USGA mix?
You guessed it: Springfield’s own Baltusrol Golf Club.
The 71st U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will be held on both the Lower and Upper Courses, July 16th-21st. Both courses will be used during stroke-play the first two days, while match-play for the round of 64 over the remaining four days will be held on the Upper Course.

The tournament is open to any male amateur golf who has not reached his 19th birthday by July 21st and whose Handicap Index does not exceed 4.4.
Sectional qualifying will be conducted at 48 sites across the nation (subject to change) from June 11-29, including Shackamaxon Country Club in nearby Scotch Plains on Tuesday, June 19th.
The tournament will coincide with the 70th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, California.
This will be the 15th USGA event held on Shunpike Road since Jeff Quinney captured the 2000 U.S. Amateur in a playoff over James Driscoll (Upper Course) and the 18th overall major championship since Jimmy Walker captured the 2016 PGA Championship over Jason Day (Lower Course).
This will be the third time the Garden State has hosted the U.S. Junior Amateur. Terry Noe captured the title in 1994 at Echo Lake CC in Westfield and Jordan Spieth took home the title in 2009 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, home of last year’s U.S. Women’s Open.
FS1 will broadcast the final three days of match play (times TBA).
Last year, Noah Goodwin, of Corinth, Texas, avenged his championship-match loss in 2016 by rallying from four holes down with eight to play to defeat Californian Matthew Wolff, 1 up, at Flint Hills National Golf Club in Andover, Kan. It was the second-biggest comeback in Junior Amateur history.
