NUTLEY, NJ- Take me out to the bodyslams, take me out to the mayhem! Independent Wrestling Federation presents a family-friendly Live Event on Sunday, June 10, 2018, 5:30 pm to benefit Nutley East Little League. The outdoor extravaganza takes place at Nutley East's Flora Louden Park Complex, 268 Hancox Avenue, Nutley, NJ.
“There are a lot of expenses and field upkeep costs that go along with operating a Little League organization that most people are unaware of,” said Nick Moccio, Nutley East Vice President and volunteer coach. “We plan to use the funds from this event for field improvements, equipment upgrades and new uniforms.”
Leading the path of destruction at IWF FIREPOWER are Nutley's own Master of Chaos Kevin Knight, plus IWF Hall of Famers Phat Daddy Biggie Biggs, Outlaw Shane O'Brien and Shawn Donavan. Knight will be in singles action, while Biggs will be defending his newly won IWF Heavyweight Title.
Also appearing are IWF American Champion First-Class Justin Adams, Dark Oracle Sage, Southside Slugger Tony Graves, Soul Train Nick Shin, Bright Lights Jarrett Foster, IWF Junior Heavyweight Champion The Weasel, IWF Hall of Fame Referee Barry Delaney and more. Event hosts are IWF Hall of Famers Mad Dawg Jenkins and The Commish AJ Sparxx.
“Each year, we wrap-up the season with a different family-oriented activity to bring our players, parents, coaches and volunteers together,” Moccio said. “In years prior, we’ve hosted carnivals and picnics. This year, we are hosting the wrestling event.”
This will be a sports experience that delivers action-packed thrills and is affordable for the entire family. Special door prizes, raffle drawings and face painting will take place, plus food and concessions will be available.
Tickets are $20 and available at CampIWF.com, or Nutley East Fieldhouse during games. Remaining tickets available when gates open at 5:00 pm. It's a festival-seating, general admission event with fans asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Bleacher seats also available. Rain date is Sunday, June 17, with June 10 tickets being honored on the make-up date.
“Just like my father brought me to the matches when I was a child, this event is a chance for kids to hang out with their dads at the field and watch great wrestling action,” said Kevin Knight, a Nutley High School graduate and former Little Leaguer. “Not only can IWF help raise funds, but we can bring awareness to the community about the Little League program.”
This year marks the 65th Anniversary of Little League Baseball in the Township of Nutley, and Moccio, who is coordinating this fundraiser, believes that youth baseball is much more than just wins and losses.
“Little League is important to not only educate kids on the fundamental skills of baseball that they can carry on to our travel leagues and high school team, but to teach them about the importance of exercise and being active within our community,” added Moccio.
Coming off the sold-out LOUD & PROUD reunion event April 14 at Nutley Rec Center to benefit Relay For Life, IWF is excited to return with another memorable charity event. Supporting this event are Nutley Parks & Recreation Department, Ocean Beach Sales and Rentals of Lavallette, TAPinto Nutley, and Clinical Sports Labs.
Established in 1998, the award-winning Independent Wrestling Federation produced more than 700 Live Events throughout New Jersey. The nationally-accredited IWF Wrestling School, based in Woodland Park and Nutley, saw 44 graduates receive WWE and NXT tryouts with 11 gaining full-time employment in the ring and behind the scenes.
