Auditions for the Strollers' "How the World Got Wisdom"

Seeking adults, teens, and kids (7 or older) for this fun and creative ensemble show—a multi-ethnic, multi-generational celebration of African folktales told through story, song, and dance. No experience required!

Auditioners should be prepared to tell a fable or folk story of their choice (in animated fashion) or cold read a scene from the show. They may also be asked to sing a simple song and learn a simple dance combo. ​People with knowledge of African dance styles are especially encouraged to audition. 

​We also seek percussion musicians with knowledge of African musical styles to be part of the on-stage band during performances.

​Performances (in 2020)

  • Friday, Jan 31 & Feb 7 @ 7:00pm
  • Saturday, Feb 1 & 8 @ 1:00pm & 3:00pm
  • Sunday, Feb 2 & 9 @ 1:00pm & 3:00pm

Rehearsals

2-4 times per week, starting Thursday, Dec 12

  • Weekday evenings: generally 7-8:30pm
  • Saturday afternoons: generally 2-4:00pm 

(NOTE: year-end holiday conflicts will be worked around; not everyone will be called for every rehearsal until mid January)

Rehearsals will be held at the Burgdorff or other facilities in the Maplewood area.
