NUTLEY, NJ - There's still time for adult residents of the township to get to the stores to create their entry for the Nutley Public Library's Pumpkin Decorating Contest and Display. Entries must be submitted today (Tuesday Oct. 6) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The staff at the library have given residents a homework assignment: get creative with pumpkins at home and enter your masterpiece at the library on Tuesday. Submitted works will be on display from Oct. 7 to Oct. 22. While on display, there will be in person voting of the best pumpkin-work. On Oct. 23, two winners of gift cards will be announced.

So, head to the farmers market or garden center and select the best pumpkin. Then using common craft items like paint, sharpies, ribbon, glitter, or even natural materials, decorate the pumpkin. Keep in mind that these will be on display indoors, so no carving.
