NUTLEY, NJ - With the state opening up, but COVID-19 still present, residents can accomplish three goals in one stop at Pretty Handy on Franklin Ave.
With all indicators suggesting that masks will have to be worn in public for some time, Pretty Handy's selection of locally made masks affords everyone the chance to 1. Stay Healthy, 2. Shop Local, and 3. Support the Nutley Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad (NVERS).
The masks, crafted locally, were made using fabric donated by the residents of Nutley. Volunteers, affectionately known as the "Masketeers," then cut, sewed, and assembled the masks. The mask project has grabbed headlines in TAPinto Nutley and other publications, in large part because 100% of the funds from the project were donated to NVERS.
To date, more than 1,200 masks were sold raising over $12,000 for NVERS. Sales continue online and in the shop. Online purchasers will receive a "surprise" mask, a random pattern chosen by the packing team. Those wishing to select a style fitting their taste are encouraged to shop in store. The masks are $10 each.
In addition, Pretty Handy features locally made jewelry, art, soap, lotions, candles, and food including Jersey Barnfire Hot Sauce.
Pretty Handy is located at 175 Franklin Ave. Nutley NJ, across the street from Mamma Vittoria.
