NUTLEY, NJ - The Township of Nutley, and the rest of North Jersey, may be under a heat advisory, but that doesn't mean we can't dream of Santa's arrival.
Continuing a decades old tradition, the Nutley Chamber of Commerce will kick off the '2019 Shop Local' season with Santa's arrival by helicopter on the Nutley Oval. The annual free event takes place the day after Thanksgiving, November 29. TAPinto Nutley will once again be there to report all of the festivities.
In 2016, the event was marked by a light drizzle. In 2017, the crowd was reported to be the largest in memory. Last year, according to Andy Garruto of the Nutley Chamber of Commerce, was the coldest in memory. What will 2019 bring? The only certainties are Santa and smiles.
An anonymous source, believed to be one of Santa's elves, tipped TAPinto Nutley off confirming that, yes, "he sees you when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake." He then added "he knows when you're all sandy, he knows when you all wet, he knows when you've been good or bad..." This tip confirms our suspicion that Santa is watching children all year round, even at the beach.
TAPinto Nutley will continue to share information when either the chamber or Santa's eleves share details with us.
